Adventures of Camping on St John, USVI… with a Hog.

I live in Texas. In Texas you hear stories of terrifyingly large wild hogs just wrecking havoc on peoples land, and also how dangerous they can be for humans. I never expected […]

Torres Del Paine Circuit Trek Chronicles

When my friend and I decided to go to Patagonia, we found a few helpful sites to plan the trip ourselves rather than paying exponentially more to go through a tour company. […]

2 Weeks in the Cook Islands

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on September 13, 2019 • ( Leave a comment )

By the end of 2 weeks in the Cook Islands I was undoubtedly bored. Upon returning home, I’m surprised that I miss that idleness and look at it with an entirely different […]

Vacation in Labadee, Haiti

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on July 2, 2019 • ( Leave a comment )

South Africa Post-Apartheid Impressions and Adventures.

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on April 10, 2019 • ( Leave a comment )

Cape Town really had everything I would want in a vacation destination. It was walkable, had beautiful beaches, excellent hiking and scenery, everything I ate was delicious, the people were friendly, AND […]

Where The Green Dress Travels: To The West Coast of Puerto Rico

A Girls Trip to Ancient Egypt

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on December 3, 2018 • ( Leave a comment )

First impressions set the tone for meeting a person or a place. Very quickly our minds register a like or dislike, and often we refer back to our initial feeling. I was […]

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on September 26, 2018 • ( Leave a comment )

‘La Dolce Vita’ in Tuscany & Florence.

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on September 18, 2018 • ( Leave a comment )

Quebec City and the Siberia Station Spa

By notyouraveragelifeSpann on June 23, 2018 • ( Leave a comment )

My Philippines Experience- El Nido, Loboc, and Panglao Island.

The perfect Sunday funday, Moorea style.
-How I travel in a carry on ONLY alwayssss-
I have a hard time answering the ‘favorite’ travel questions, but I’m going to try.
La Sagrada Familia
I used to be scared to rent a car abroad, but it’s my preferred way to travel through Europe now 🚗. From Amsterdam, Netherlands to Antwerp, Belgium is under 2 hours, and just 30 minutes more to Beussels! Annnnd you get to stop in Gouda for some cheese along the way. Trains are readily available & I’m sure wonderful, but there’s just something about a road trip.
Brugge, Belgium 🇧🇪 .
I think once you’ve traveled a lot you crave the more authentic & unique experiences a place can offer. I do at least.
My uncle randomly posted a memory about the # 1 beer in the world and it was tagged in Belgium. I just happened to be leaving for a road trip in Belgium in a few days and obviously needed to know more.
1 backpacking trip a year, I think it’s a good goal 🥾😁. Honestly I crave the immersion back into nature, and I love the fact that you have to carry everything you need on your back. It’s my yearly reminder that I don’t actually need all that ‘stuff’ to survive and be happy. This year @alaa_ic offered to take me away for a long weekend for my birthday. I think he was a little surprised when I told him I wanted to go tent camping for 3n and hike all day, but he gave me my birthday present… life experiences, memories, and a few days in beautiful nature 🙂.
